About Nichole
I am a freelance editor and proofreader. I provide services for fiction (horror/thriller/suspense, romance, fantasy, romantasy) and nonfiction (self-help, business development). My greatest values as an editor are trust, communication, and customer satisfaction. I have a background in science, psychology, healthcare, and community service. Throughout my healthcare career, I was honored with several awards for going above and beyond—an ethic I now bring to every editing project.
A lifelong lover of words, I turned my passion into a profession by founding Nichole With an H Proofreading. After years of feeling unfulfilled in healthcare, returning to my literary roots felt like coming home. I was motivated by my grandmother's death to make a change. She found satisfaction late in life, and I know she wanted me to pursue what made me happy.
Outside of editing, I’m a married mother of two teenagers. I love reading horror/thrillers, romantasy (romantic fantasy), and historical fiction. I also volunteer as a proofreader for the Editorial Freelancers Association, and for Distributed Proofreaders—contributing to Project Gutenberg’s mission of preserving literary works.
